I am inclined to agree. While writing, I asked myself, 'Have I talked about this before?'
I guess the sad part of making this a personal newsletter is just as I often have repeated conversations, I will sadly bore you all with things I bored you with previously!!
All The Bright Places is a powerful read, but it does feel drawn out. I have been struggling to finish it myself. Also for someone that has read The Fault In Our Stars as well, it can feel quite repetitive.
Hahaha LKY is a smart smart man. If I were an idealist, I would say Nigeria needs to implement some of Singapore's policies. Instead, all I can say is God airpussss.
Thanks for engaging (as usual), Anish. Have a great week! 😊
I’ve never related more to your newsletter as in this moment. Just 30 minutes ago, I was ranting about being home alone with my folks as I am the last child and how they don’t want to sponsor the expensive life they introduced me to. But reading this just taught me to slow down and realise they’re doing their best and they have done so much good for me, Alhamdulillah. I guess I have to apologise now.
And the upside downside part, I was literally just thinking about how I’ve always wanted a corporate life but now it seems everyone is into entrepreneurship and anyone who settles for a 9-5 is an unserious element 😹 I guess I’ll just do me🤷🏾♀️.
First off I really love "All the Bright places", I finished reading the book then watched the movie adaptation just to criticize everything they cut out or didn't portray😄 ( Am I the only one that does this for movie adaptations of books?🤔). You should totally read it to the end, well you've read the ending anyway 😅
Maximizing upsides and minimizing downsides is really an interesting concept. I've never really thought of things this way when I make decisions but it really does cover a lot of reasons why we make the choices we make, I'll start asking myself these questions. Thank you for this, amazing as always 👍🌟
This is so amazing. I just read it now and guess the next question I asked, How many offensive moves have I made this year? 😂
Anyhow sha, great content Hameed.
You distinguished yourself from Yoruba Uncle that would rather shout at the father for wasting his morning to play with his daughter 😂 I guess you minded your business ni sha 😂
Good read. I think a good follow up to the "trade-offs" idea would be the topic of "taking asymmetrical bets". It's such an important idea that few people are probably aware of but need to have at the fore of their minds as they take life decisions, both small and large.
Awesome read, as always .
Minimizing downside, maximizing upside, lol. I feel like you've said this a number of times before, but just in different words.
I keep thinking about my parents and I didn't/don't appreciate them enough, don't even think that I can, so I forward their matter to the one who can.
I started reading all the bright places many moons ago, and I've still not finished. I might have to start again.
Aaandd, Lee Kwan Yew's 'From 3rd World to 1st' is a really special book to me, for so many reasons.
P. S. You stalking my library or something?
Have a great week 😊

Lmaooo hopefully we don't turn into those Yoruba uncles we kove to criticize 😂
Thanks for reading egbon!
I really enjoyed this one😊 thank you for sharing these random thoughts and well done 👍🏾
Thank you so much for reading!
I think this is the shortest newsletter you've written. It was amazing. Despite the length, I learnt as always. Quality wasn't affected. Keep it up.
Thanks big man. I'm actually trying to make them shorter on purpose, glad someone noticed!
Beautiful.
