Hi guys,
Hope you are well. I’m doing okay, Alhamdulillah.
Today, I’m knackered. Completely knackered and I just need to sleep lol. I moved houses this weekend, and it has taken a physical and emotional toll.
If someone had asked me how I felt about it earlier in the week, my vibe would have been “Only needs a few hours. Lol no be today, na smallz.”
But omo no be smallz. 😂
I have already taken tomorrow off work, and intend to both get some rest and tick off some other things I was supposed to do this weekend.

At AB’s recommendation, I recently completed Turn the Ship Around! by David L. Marquet. Even though it was a fairly atypical read for me (as I seldom consume personal development books), I still learnt a lot of lessons, especially around managing people.
One thing that stuck in my head was when the author talked about a magazine cover he had seen and how it had influenced his leadership style. The cover had nine cartoon images of a man and his dog.
The first eight images looked exactly the same - they involved a man next to his standing dog, with him saying ‘sit’. However, the dog was still standing in all eight images. In the ninth cartoon image however, the dog was sitting and the man was saying ‘good dog’.
It is such a powerful lesson. We always think we can get people (or dogs) to do things by giving them instructions and nagging them into submission. In actual fact, people (or dogs) do things they are positively incentivized to do.
As you go about your everyday life, are you telling people to ‘sit’ or are you giving them positive affirmations and incentives?
